The 2008-09 Season is right around the corner as we move into the best month of the year. Prospects for the season are very good at this point. The drought on the prairies west of Houston is a little bit of a concern but recent rains have helped.
As always we are growing in many different directions. On the land side we have acquired a number of new tracts which will augment our strong position in the west Houston prairie duck hunting. On a number of existing tracts we have undertaken significant improvements in terms of habitat on the properties. And last but not least, we have added the Farris as our headquarters in Eagle Lake. There is a lot more information on the Farris under the "lodge" button above. We think the potential for this place is large but will be a work-in-progress as the season progresses.
Dove hunts: we will celebrate the national holiday of Texas on September 1 with a dove hunt in the morning. The location is to be named as it gets closer. We will be scouting over the next few weeks and will send out details as it gets closer. This is a no-charge, members only event.
Member packets will be go out at the end of August. We ask that those that have not submitted either their waiver/information form or their dollars for their lease memberships send those items in as soon as possible. Those wishing to receive their member packets or participate in the dove hunt on September 1 need to have these items in ASAP.
